Review Summary and Plot Commentary about The Adventures of Robin Hood
The well known Robin Hood story. Robin is a nobleman. He finds that the wicked King John has usurped the throne of Richard the Lionhearted and overthrown all justice and charity. John overtaxes the people and burns their homes when they can't pay. John confiscates Robin's property. Robin takes up arms against John and his followers, becoming a hunted outlaw living in the forest. He incurs the special enmity of the Sheriff of Nottingham who is determined to kill him. Traps are laid for Robin.
In the meantime, Robin encounters the Maid Marian, the ward of King John. Initially, she disapproves of him as a criminal, but they fall in love.
Wonderful sword fights and duels, alot of old fashioned derring do, sweet love scenes with Marian not wanting to admit how she feels about Robin.
In the end, of course, justice triumphs and the rightful king is returned to his throne. Flynn is perfect as Robin, brave and masculine, and looks great in tights besides. Nice legs! De Havilland is perfect as his love. Rathbone as usual makes a great villian. Wonderful for children.

The classic tale of how Robin of Locksley and his Sherwood men set things right in England while Richard the Lionheart was out crusading. Better then any other version, the perfect family adventure
