Review Summary and Plot Commentary about The Texas Chainsaw Massacre
The Texas Chainsaw Massacre is about a group of five teens who go to one of their uncle's farm house only to be hunted.
On the way to the farm house they encounter a deranged hitchhicker who attacks one of the teens. After that incident they arrive at agas station, but there is no gas. So they have only enough to make it to the a house. Hoping they will have some gas they go to the house. They encounter a man wearing a leather mask who bashes in the guy's head and hangs his girlfriend on a meat hook alive. The main characters boyfriend goes looking for them and is also killed.

The last two characters go looking for him and also run into the man wearing the leather mask. He kills one of them and chases the girl around with the chainsaw.

--Kyle Martellacci, Resident Scholar

The group of people are on an afternoon drive to their Grandfather's house after hearing that there was a grave robbing incident (they fear their Grandfather may have been dug up). They first of all get sidetracked by an insane hitch-hiker and then run out of gas at their Grandfather's house. As some of the characters go wandering off they find an old ranch...they presume they can get some gas from the people that live there. After being sliced up with a chainsaw and frozen, ready to eat, the other two victims go searching for them. They put their lives in danger and get caught and tortured...who will survive, if anyone?
--Mikey Court, Resident Scholar

This film is actually based on the real events and murders commited by real life serial killer/cannibal Ed Gien. Five friends venture around the U.S. and stop in Texas but are slowed down by an insane hitchiker. Soon they start to notice their friends aren't coming back from walks.
--Timfan1, Resident Scholar

Warning: The Texas Chain Saw Massacre does not have a plot. Now, usually films lacking a plot aren't that good, are they? Just wait 'til you see thís one! Chain Saw Masaacre works partly just because of that; it does not concentrate on what makes Leatherface and his family kill and eat people. Instead it focuses on showing the events from the main victim's point of view, making it all together more horrifying. You cannot relate to the killer, but you can relate to the victim. The mood is pressing and the film is a masterpiece.
--Tero Hakulinen, Resident Scholar

Five friends go for a summer drive to their old dirty cottage and stumble upon a ranch out in the woods. Three cannibalistic psychos live there and the five friends are chased around by a man with a chainsaw and tortured.
