Review Summary and Plot Commentary about Quai des Orfèvres (Jenny Lamour)
QUAI DES ORFEVRES, sometimes known as "Jenny Lamour" in english speaking countries, is a movie written and directed by Henri-Georges Clouzot in 1947.
Martineau is a brave man but terribly jealous. His wife, Jenny Lamour, is an ambitious young singer who likes to play with men if it can help her career in any way. One night, Martineau, convinced that Jenny is cheating on him with the industrialist Brignon, goes to his place and finds Brignon lying on the floor, already dead.
Jenny is persuaded that she's the murderer as she had throwed a bottle of Champagne at Brignon's head earlier in the evening. When Jenny notices that she's forgotten her scarf on the scene of the crime, Dora, a friend of the Martineaus, comes back at Brignon's mansion and rubs out all fingerprints.
It's a hard job for inspector Louis Jouvet who's asked to discover who really has killed the industrial.
