| Review Summary and Plot Commentary about Death from a Distance (1935) |
An eccentric genius, Professor Ernest Einfeld (Lee Kohlmar), is lecturing to invited guests at a planetarium when a wealthy manufacturer is shot dead in the darkness. Lieutenant Ted Mallory (Russell Hopton) takes charge of the investigation. Newspaper reporter Kay Palmer (Lola Lane), who was covering the lecture, is delighted to be first on the scene of a big story. She is furious when Mallory refuses her permission to phone in her report, but she manages to get past the guards and print the story anyway. Mallory had good reason to try to prevent publication. Kay's article places the life of Professor Einfeld in jeopardy.
