Mel Gibson stars as Rick, an informant for the FBI who has been living in the witness protection program for fifteen years in Louisiana. Through pure chance, an old flame, Marianne (Hawn) sees him and blows his cover. Corrupt FBI agents then help the drug dealers Rick helped put in prison locate him and this sends Marianne and Rick on an explosive, funny adventure across the US.
