| Review Summary and Plot Commentary about The Madness of King George |
Towards the end of his life, George III (Nigel Hawthorne) suffers from mental illness, threatening the political order with uncertainty and instability. His son is eager to take over power, his wife remains devoted, and his new physician uses various unusual tactics to battle the madness. This was an amusing, witty film and a wonderful period piece.
