| Review Summary and Plot Commentary about The Quick and the Dead (1987) |
Sam Elliott stars as Con Vallian, the hero of Louis L'Amour's The Quick and the Dead. Con, a tough product of the old west, drifts into a wayside "town", following a half-breed who has just joined up with a nefarious group of killers and thieves. From the opposite direction a conastoga wagon appears with a man, (Tom Conti), his wife, (Kate Capshaw) and their young son.
The travelers quickly realize that this is not a good place to be and drive on. The thieves begin to plot against the family and Con Vallian must help the family if they are to survive.
