| Review Summary and Plot Commentary about The Job |
This movie stars Daryl Hannah as CJ March, a female hitman who is hired by Vern (Alex Rocco) to collect twenty kilos of tar heroin that was stolen from him. She finds and kills the man but he doesnt have the drugs and when she reports back to Vern that the man is dead but he didnt have the drugs he tells her to complete the job by getting his stuff back. Meanwhile Troy (Brad Renfro) is trying to set up a drug deal so he can take care of his reformed prostitute girlfriend Emily (Dominique Swain) who is pregnant. Troy doesn't have the cash he needs to get the drugs so he kills the dealer in his apartment and steals all of the drugs but he doesn't know that this is Vernon's stolen drugs that this dealer ripped off the man CJ killed. The middle of this film becomes a bit of a convoluted mess as CJ gets raped in a club, and falls in love with someone, all while struggling to deal her own pregnancy and abortion decision. This makes her an emotional mess as she tracks down and finds Troy and Emily.
