Review Summary and Plot Commentary about Enemy of the State
ENEMY OF THE STATE is a Jerry Bruckheimer production directed by Tony Scott in 1998.

Robert Clayton Dean is a lawyer working in Baltimore. One day, he meets one of his old university friends -Zavitz- who manages to put into Clayton's bag, without his noticing, a disk. Zavitz leaves in a hurry and dies a few
minutes later run over by a bus.

The disk Zavitz was in possession of contains the film of the murder of a Senator by hitmen of a NSA subgroup working for Jon Voight. Voight badly wants an amendment allowing the use of satellites for the surveillance of
people to be voted in the Senate. That's the reason he ordered the murder of the Senator who didn't want to play by Voight's rules.

Now Clayton is under satellite surveillance 24 hours a day as Voight has understood that he has the disk. A few hours later, Clayton has lost his job and his wife and he hasn't any money left as his credit cards have been blocked. In the company of Gene Hackman, a former NSA
employee who tells Clayton what is really going on, he'll try to fight back with the same weapons used against him.
