After his parents divorce, Frank Abignale runs away and becomes a con artist. He poses as a copilot for Pan-Am Airlines and begins forging paychecks.
An FBI agent, Carl Handraddy, catches on to the con and begins tracking and chasing Frank. When Carl gets too close Frank ditches the airline and begins posing as a doctor. He meets a nurse and they get engaged.
