| Review Summary and Plot Commentary about The Treasure of the Sierra Madre |
Three men go into the mountains searching for gold. They find their share and begin the long journey home.
Along the way, they run into bandits who try to steal their guns and possessions. They're able to fight off the bandits.
Farther down the trail they run into some mexicans who live in the mountains who are in need of a doctor, which one of the men happens to be. He agrees to help the mexicans and the other two men agree to look after his goods.
As they travel, one of the men begins a quick descent into madness. He thinks the other man is trying to kill him and steal his gold. He decides to take action first; he shoots the other man and leaves him for dead.
However, the man lives and meets up with the doctor, who patches him up.
They travel out of the mountains to find that the other man that had betrayed has been killed by the bandits and had all of the gold and the goods stolen.
