| Review Summary and Plot Commentary about Taking Off |
Jeannie Tyne is a runaway teenager who started a new life in New York, getting familar of the big city that she never been to before. But her high strung parents Lynn and Larry believes she is missing. Larry and his best friend Tony plans a search for Jeannie, but their journey is put on a hold after the two went on a drinking spree at a local bar.
In the meantime, Lynn and Tony's wife Margot begin a intimate discussion about their sex lives. Despite their own foolish behavior, Lynn and Larry cracks down hard on Jeannie when she finally returns home. The Tynes accused their own daughter of becoming a junkie, yet their hypocritical ways is another thing, as they in turn under the influence of narcotics during a meeting of a support for parents about runaway teens.
The hyprocrisy continues as their anger towards Jeannie become worse when Jeannie's long-haired boyfriend is one second away from being kicked out of their home, until the Tynes realizes that the boy is a well to do guy with plenty of money.
