Review Summary and Plot Commentary about Gun Fury
Jennifer Ballard, a young woman from the deep south, has taken the stagecoach to meet her fiancé Ben Warren in a small town of Arizona. Ben surprises her by meeting her a few dozen miles before Haynesville in order to accompany the young girl during the last part of her trip. But, unfortunately, two of the passengers of the stagecoach are Frank Slayton and Jess Burgess, the leaders of the Slayton gang, a gang made up of former confederate soldiers. Ben Warren is shot during the hold-up of the stagecoach and left for dead and Jennifer is kidnapped by Frank Slayton who's attracted by her.

Soon, Jess Burgess, who dared to tell Slayton that it's not a good idea to keep Jennifer with them, is tied to a fence and abandoned to the vultures. Later, Ben Warren, who recovered, finds and saves Jess Burgess. Both men decide then to go in search of Slayton and his gang who are heading to Mexico. Nobody wants to help them with the exception of Johash, an Indian whose sister died because of Slayton. While the attempts of escape of Jennifer are failing one by one, the three men come closer and finally catch up with the gang. Slayton proposes then to Ben to give him back Jennifer if Jess agrees to join up with him. Jess agrees but is shot by Clayton. Ben pursues then Slayton in order to get rid of the criminal once and for all. Directed by Raoul Walsh in 1953.
