Review Summary and Plot Commentary about Streets of Fire
Cody's (Pare) ex-girldriend, Allen Aim, a rock star played by Diane Lane, is kidnapped by Raven, leader of the Bomber's gang (Willem DaFoe) because he wants to toy with her for a few weeks. Cody's sister, knowing he's Ellen's ex-boyfriend and he's out of the Army, writes him to come home, urgently. Cody does, joins up with McCoy (Amy Madigan), also ex-Army and out of work, and they, reluctantly paid by Ellen Aim's current lover/producer (Moranis)go against Raven and the Bombers to rescue her. The soundtrack by Ry Cooder makes the whole movie so much better than it would have been otherwise, it's like another character/actor in the movie.

"The leader of the pack steals the queen of the hop and the soldier boy comes home to do something about it." In "another time, another place" that vaguely resembles the 1950's, a singer is kidnapped by a biker gang and her ex-boyfriend comes home and rescues her. This leads to a chase through a really big city at night and climaxes in a kick-ass sledgehammer fight.
