Review Summary and Plot Commentary about Lady in a Cage
Cornelia Hilyard is a wealthy widow healing from a broken hip from a injury. Hilyard lives with her son Malcolm in a wonderful mansion in which she can only get around in through a elevator. One day Malcolm planned a trip that day to see his friends and also leaves something for his mother, a suicide note, but he only tells her to read until he leaves. Before Malcolm left his home, he accidently knocks over a ladder with his car, which soon hits a power line. It so happens Hilyard is using the elevator and suddenly the power line in the elevator is out of order.
Assuming that it is only a minor malfunction, Hilyard sits in the elevator for a few minutes and do not bother pressing the emergency button. But soon the lady grows tired and eventually finds out that something is wrong and Hilyard began to press the button, yet on the outside, people in their cars unaware of what they hear and continue to mind their own business.
